RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTSRCIA - FOR ADULTS Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the formation process by which adults are initiated into the Catholic Church. Any adult who is interested in becoming a Catholic or who is a Catholic and has not celebrated First Eucharist or confirmation is encouraged to call the Parish Office at 669-0068 and ask to speak to Fr. Chris. RCIA ADAPTED FOR CHILDREN We welcome all children above age 7, who have never been baptized, who are coming from another faith, or have been baptized in the Roman Catholic Faith but have not received catechesis for Eucharist and Confirmation, into the church through participation in an adapted form of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. A meeting with the director of Faith Formation is required. The parents, the first and most important teachers of their children, have a key role in this journey of initiation. Weekly mass participation is expected of all RCIA families. The 9:30 am Mass in Nolan Hall offers the best experience for children. We encourage parents to prepare their children to begin this process by reading and discussing with them the book Jesus Lives: Faith Stories for Young Children OR Jesus Lives: Faith Stories for Ages 11 to 14. These little books are available in the Catholic Faith Formation Office for $10.00. |
