Deacon Barry P. Croce During his last year of studies at the seminary, Deacon Barry suggested as a class motto: “don’t take yourself too seriously.” It is a motto he embraces and continues to live his life by. He believes the maxim that says: “work as if everything depended on you, knowing everything depends on the Lord.” He considers his faith the greatest gift from the Lord. He would then list his wife, four children and 3 grandchildren. As his last name means cross in Italian, he tells anyone who will listen that his wife has truly been carrying her cross for over thirty years. Deacon Barry’s love of the Lord, of the Lord’s people and his Church compel him to continue to take graduate classes at the seminary and at various universities. He is enthralled with the liturgy of our faith, believing that our Eucharistic worship is the “Source of Summit” of our faith. He is always available to all, from our children to our “golden agers”, acting with the grace of God in persona Christi diaconoi, Christ the deacon.
