Hello and welcome to the Music Ministry site. In addition to overseeing the music program, I am the church organist and director of the renowned St. Joseph's Choir.
My advanced degrees were earned at Teachers' College, Columbia University after attending the Crane School of Music, graduating from SUNY Potsdam. I have had many years of music teaching experience in public, private and university levels. As a soprano soloist I have presented solo recitals at various NYC concert halls including Carnegie Recital Hall and at Lincoln Center as a member of the professional 24-voice a cappella choir, Canticum Novum.
St. Joseph's Choir was a men and boys ensemble until I was appointed as director in the fall of 1983. The men in the choir can attest to the fact that women joining the group has added a wonderful new dimension not only the liturgy but the volume of sacred repertoire added to the program. I have had the honor to direct St. Joseph's choir on three European Concert Tours to Italy in 1993 and 2006, and to the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria in 2013.
The most memorable experiences of my life have happened because of my love of the church and love of music! My hope is that you may also share in this wonder.
