  • Gingerbread Playdough

  • Slime

    ½ cup liquid starch
    ½ cup water
    ½ cup glue
    Food coloring
    Mix water, glue and food coloring.
    Add liquid starch until desired consistency.

  • Playdough

    8 tbs. oil
    2 cups salt
    4 tsp. cream of tartar
    4 cups water
    4 cups flour
    Food coloring

    Heat oil on medium setting until it’s hot

    Add dry ingredients – stir constantly

    Add water with food coloring continue to stir until dough is like play dough (approx. 5 minutes)

    Let cool a few minutes

    Food coloring can be added at this time

  • Breads

    Irish Soda Bread

    6 small loaves or 2 larger

    Preheat oven 350
    In a large bowl mix

    • 1 stick of butter (softened)
    • 1 cup sugar cream together with butter
    • 2 eggs add to mixture – stir until combined

    1 teaspoon baking soda
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    1 teaspoon salt
    add all to above

    1 ¼ cups Buttermilk (add to mixture and combine)
    4 cups flour (combine one cup at a time)
    1 cup of raisins (you can add after 2 cups of flour to make combining easier)

    Put in a greased round casserole or cake pan (8 or 9”)
    Cut an “X” in top Bake 1 hour.

    Pumpkin Bread Recipe

    (6 small loaves)

    Cream together 3 cups of sugar and 4 eggs
    Add:

    • 2 tsp baking soda
    • ½ tsp baking powder
    • 1 tsp ground cloves (optional)
    • 1 tsp nutmeg
    • 1 tsp cinnamon

     

    • 3 1/3 cups flour
    • 1 cup vegetable oil
    • 2 cups pumpkin puree
    • 1 cup raisins

    Mix together. Divide into 6 portions into baking loaf pans and bake in preheated 350 oven for 45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

    Corn Bread

    4 packages JIFFY cornbread mix
    4 eggs
    1 1/3 cups milk
    2 sticks melted butter

    Mix all together
    Ingredients divide evenly into 6 small or 2 large portions

    Bake at 350 preheated oven until golden and toothpick comes out clean.

     

     

  • Applesauce

    The teachers don’t use a recipe. But the approximate quantities and ingredients are written below:

    For approximately 8 apples

    Put 1 cup of water in a fry pan with apples and ½ cup of sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. You can add more apples or more water if necessary. (Also sugar and cinnamon to taste.)

    Cook until apples are soft then put in blender.

    M - muffins, melon

    N - nectarines NO NUTS
    O - oranges, Cheerios
    P - pretzels, pears, pudding
    Q - “Quackers”, “Quinlan” Pretzels
    R - rye bread, raisins, round crackers
    S - strawberries, Saltine crackers
    T - Triscuit crackers
    U - “Uneeda” biscuits
    V - vanilla pudding, vanilla wafers
    W - watermelon, wheat thins
    X - pretzel sticks (we use two to make the letter “X”)
    Y - yogurt, yellow apples
    Z - zucchini, bread, Zesty brand crackers

    We ask that you adhere to our snack guidelines in the Parent Handbook ie; no donuts, brownies, cookies, chips.
