SNACK DOS AND DON'TS
SNACKS
Each child will have an opportunity to bring in snack for the class on a rotating basis. The snack is important as it bridges home and school. It becomes special because:
- You and your child select it.
- Your child is sharing it with his/her school friends.
- Your child is the class leader and flag person this day.
Your child’s teacher will notify you which snack day is your child’s.
All students will wash/wipe their hands before snack.
Please keep in mind that our snack time is brief. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping the snacks healthy and simple. Check with the classroom teachers or office if there is something special you would like to bring. We reserve the right to refuse any snack that we feel is not appropriate (i.e. choking hazard). Any questions, please ask.
Snack suggestions: pretzels, Cheese-Its, Goldfish crackers, milk, crackers, cheese, orange juice, muffins, bagels, apple juice, mini yogurts, plain cupcakes (no icing), lemonade, water
Birthdays
Birthdays are important to children and we like to celebrate this important event with your child at snack time. The teachers will reserve a date on the snack list closest to your child’s birthday and inform you when that is. For this special event you and your child may bring: ice cream dixie cups and spoons, muffins, cupcakes (store bought, no icing) or any snack listed above. **nothing prepared in your home
This is a NUT FREE environment.
NO peanut butter or peanut products of any kind are to be brought to school.
Allergies:
Please be sure your child’s Brightwheel profile reflects any and all allergies or special dietary restrictions your child may have. To ensure that no peanut oil enters the classroom, all students will wash/wipe their hands upon entering the classroom.
