St. Joseph Choir

Calling All Teens and Adults!

This is an opportune time to consider joining the St. Joseph Choir! The choir has the privilege of enhancing the sung worship each Sunday at the 10:30 mass, Holy Week, and Christmas Eve.
In September we will not only be preparing new music for Sunday 10:30 mass but also  rehearsing concert music for the annual Messiah Benefit Concert. If you enjoy singing and are free on Thursday evenings from 7-9 pm, why not experience an evening with the choir and try us out?
(Teens will receive community service.)

About Us

The 27-voice St. Joseph’s Choir sings weekly at the Sunday 10:30 AM liturgy, enhancing and leading the assembly in sung prayer. We sing for Christmas Eve, Holy Week and other parish celebrations.

Dossier

St. Joseph's Choir made several Christmas recordings and a live recording of Mozart’s REQUIEM in commemoration of and in tribute to the local victims of 9/11. We sang televised Christmas and Easter liturgies for the Passionists celebrated by such notorieties as the late Cardinal O’Connor, Cardinal Egan and Cardinal Bevilaqua. We had an audience with Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI while on concert tours to Italy. We met and sang with the late Helen Hayes, Ossie Davis and the jazz legend, Dave Brubeck.

The choir embarked on 3 European Concert Tours over the years and had an audience with Pope John II and  Pope Benedict XVI. We sang the high mass at St. Peter's Basilica and performed with the Salzburg Orchestra at their Cathedral during the Mozart Festival.

Each trip had its highlights with concerts in the most beautiful Churches and Cathedrals.

The choir has presented a  traditional December concert for over 20 years to benefit the poor in our communities, raising well over $100,000.  Their choral repertoire contains very challenging music such as  Handel’s MESSIAH, Bach's MAGNIFICAT, Mozart’s REQUIEM and GRAND MASS in CM, the Vivaldi's Gloria and the Pergolesi's Magnificat.

The next Christmas Benefit Concert date is Sunday, December 13th, 2026 at 7:00PM.
