Special Training is provided for this ministry. Those who are in their Senior Year of High School or older are welcome to attend training to assist as Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist.
How to Become an Extraordinary Minister
Responsibilities and Expectations:

Assist at Sunday Mass
-
Volunteer to serve on Holy Days, Christmas Eve, and Ash Wednesday

Volunteer to bring Communion to the Homebound, Nursing Homes, and Assisted Living facilities
-
Attend the EM meetings - usually four throughout the year
-
Have received the sacraments of:
-
Baptism
-
First Communion
-
Confirmation
-
If married, must be in a valid marriage according to the law of the Catholic Church

Dress Appropriately
-
Have Fr. Rick, our Pastor, write a letter to the Bishop
-
Complete the Volunteer Form requested by the diocese and available at the Parish Center
-
Attend the training workshop offered by the Rockville Center Diocese - offered in the Spring and Fall
-
Complete Virtus training
-
Obtain and ID Badge
-
Attend an EM conducted tour of our Church Sacristy and Hall
